so what is the point of having all the Dead shows on LMA if you can't stream them? I am happy to simple stream music, but every time i go the the dead portion of LMA that is sbd's I have to search to find one that I can actually stream?
If you can't stream them, why not take them down?

Can you provide specific examples (with urls) of nonstreaming shows? BTW due to technical specs some of the "DTS" versions do not have streamable derivatives, but there are typically streamable alternate copies of those shows available.

Without any guidance links from you, I'm not clear on "without searching, if you go to stream only dead sbds". Url(s)?

regarding the first three shows...each one has a note at the top of the page why it is not available for streaming...see below...

note: if/when a show gets pulled from being available for streaming (e.g., it is commercially released) the web pages are not pulled just the ability to stream the show.

http://www.archive.org/details/gd1977-10-11.sbd.orf.279.sbeok.shnf: This show has been released commercially as part of Road Trips, Vol 1 No 2.
http://www.archive.org/details/gd1987-09-18.sbd-pcm.lynn.34707.flac1648: This is a 48khz recording and cannot be streamed
http://www.archive.org/details/gd1971-04-29.sbd.haugh.33565.flac16: This show has been commercially released as " Ladies and Gentleman, The Grateful Dead"

regarding your other link: that is a list of shows that are available for streaming only...click on any of the shows and you should be able to stream the show with no problem...unless it has been pulled for reasons such as the show being commercially released, as was the case in two of the three shows you mentioned...

OK I see where the thread is coming from now, thanks.

note: if/when a show gets pulled from being available for streaming (e.g., it is commercially released) the web pages are not pulled just the ability to stream the show.

If you can't stream them, why not take them down?

For the "were available here but not anymore" GD dates, people were strongly in favor of a marker page for those recordings, vs. a simple vanishing.
